Which Payment methods does KMH accept?

For PCA, Homemaker and Companion services, KMH accepts the below payer sources:

  • Long Term Care insurance policies
  • Connecticut Home Care Program for Elders
  • Personal Care Attendant (PCA) Waiver
  • Private Funds

Are KMH caregivers employees or independent contractors?

All KMH aids are direct employees and receive a W2 forms. The employee status means that KMH withholds taxes, social security and Medicare as well as carries the necessary worker’s compensation insurance on all employees.

What process does KMH follow when hiring new aids?

All KMH aids are hired in person at one of our office settings. Each new employee goes through a background check and performs a drug screening. Additionally, all aids are given a live orientation by an office staff member, in order to go over specific company policies. KMH understands that allowing someone into your home can be a difficult and we take all steps to ensure that our aids are trustworthy individuals who will provide a high level of service.

How soon can KMH set up service?

When paying out of pocket, there is very little time needed to begin a home care case. A client or family member is responsible for simply completing a short contract and discussing the case in detail with a KMH office staff member. In many instances, KMH is able to offer next day service.

Is KMH open on weekends and holidays?

The KMH office is open 365 days per year. KMH believes that having the ability to speak to a staff member on weekends and holidays gives clients and family members the best experience possible. For afterhours situations, KMH employs an answering service so that we can be available for emergencies 24 hours per day.

What is the ownership structure of KMH?

KMH is an owner operated business. When dealing with KMH, you will be interacting with staff members that truly care about their clients and are directly invested in the business.
